The Caretaker

As part of the Barnes Waterside Estate, the daily maintenance and upkeep of Handel Mansions is conducted by the estate caretaker, Mr Mick Roche. The caretaker is typically the first point of contact for all issues pertaining to communal services and infrastructure and for any faults that may occur with individual flats. The Caretaker’s office is on Trinity Church Road, near Holst Mansions.

Mick Roche can be contacted on: Tel – 0208 748 3216 / M – 07766 782 836

Bicycle Storage

There is a secure bicycle storage area located in the garage area. Please see the caretaker for the security code for access.

Building Works

(Refer Rules for Contractors and your Lease documents for full rules and permission requirements.) The Caretaker is to be notified of building works so that covers can be put up to protect the lift carriage. Leaseholders should apply flooring protection to protect the communal carpets.

Car parking (refer Rules & Regulations)

There are visitor car parking bays at Handel Mansions, both in the underground gated garage and outside the front of Handel Mansions. These are for occasional use and not to be used as permanent or long-term parking.

The London Borough of Richmond upon Thames offers local residents a parking card (the Richmond Card) which offers 30 minutes of free parking within the borough. This Richmond Card can also be used to access local library services and Council-operated leisure facilities.

Deliveries / Moving / Removals

Please note that, as per the Rules for Contractors, all large deliveries, including furniture deliveries and removals, must be made via the basement Car park entrance.

Gardens

The Gardeners (Greenmantle) come to maintain our communal gardens at Handel Mansions on Mondays. The Gardeners work reduced hours over the winter months but continue to come each week.

The enclosed riverside gardens are for the quiet enjoyment of all residents. Barnes Waterside maintains the walkway between Holst Mansions and Handel Mansions separately, along with the wildlife corridor opposite Handel Mansions, the gardens alongside Burges Grove, the green area at the end of Merthyr Terrace, and,, of course, the beautiful pond and Bat House.

Post

Individual personal post boxes are located on the ground floor of each stairwell. The closest Royal Mail post box is nearby on the corner of Heidegger Crescent and Wyatt Drive.

Rubbish & Recycling:

Rubbish and Recycling are collected on Mondays. The caretaker arranges garage access to the bins for collection.
For resident use:

  • Black recycling bins are located at the entry and exit points to the underground garage parking area; these bins are clearly marked for paper and plastic waste.
  • Green rubbish bins are also in the underground garage; all rubbish should be in plastic bags.
  • Large items should be taken to the local refuse centre, Townmead. Road (off Mortlake Road), Kew, TW9 4EL. Townmead Road Reuse and Recycling Centre requires that a timeslot is booked in advance via their website richmond.gov.uk/townmead_road
