Board Members

The Board consists of flat owners who are appointed, co-opted or elected at the AGM.   They are unpaid and give of their time freely.   They are responsible for instructing the Managing Agents on how to keep Handel Mansions and surrounding gardens well managed and well maintained. Board members are answerable to the Leaseholders who have the opportunity to raise issues at the Annual General Meeting.

Chair

Doug Lewis. Doug has lived in Handel Mansions since 2002. Following a career in the Royal Navy he has relevant experience as the chair of the CLG and at a large property development in Portugal. He is also active in the voluntary sector. Doug became Chairman of the Board in 2020.

Irena Theodorou. Irena is a Healthcare Management Consultant and has worked in both the National Health Service and Private Healthcare sector. She moved to Handel Mansions in 2002 and has been a member of the Board since 2012.

Bruce Luxon. Bruce spent most of his career as head of administration at the BOC Group Headquarters before moving to Handel Mansions in 2014.

Brylie de Albuquerque. Brylie and her husband moved to Handel Mansions in 2022, Brylie is a residential Landlord and also works in administration in the finance sector. Brylie joined the Board in 2023.

Garden Sub-CommitteeMaintaining our gardens is a major priority and expenditure, so we now have a sub-committee that reports back to the board. It consists of:Bruce Luxon (Chair), Wendy Godfrey and Brylie de Albuquerque
